April was Pet Valu’s National PAWS Month and this year, Pet Valu Uptown Market Markham chose Peace Fur Paws and Rescue Angels as their groups to support! We had an exciting month of fundraising events planned with Rescue Angels, which included a Dog Washing Fundraiser, Vegan Bake Sale, Spa Day and Adoptathon Event! We had lots of canine “customers” at our dog-washing centre and our volunteers did a great job as you can see by all the happy furry faces. Our human friends were equally happy at our vegan bake sale – no one could tell everything was vegan and we completely sold out our baked goods! Some of the baked goodies included our vegan chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, cinnamon buns, muffins, banana chocolate cake, cookies and doggie baked goods and more! All the proceeds from this event are going towards cat rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing, as well moon bear rescue in Asia from the bear bile farming industry.
