Just imagine, being trapped in an enclosed space with hardly any room to move. Every day is not a new day, as you are poked and prodded with instruments beyond your recognition. You await for rescue that never comes. It is 2017, and it’s still hard to believe that animal testing is still happening. Animal testing is defined by Cruelty Free International as any scientific experiment or test in which a live animal is forced to undergo something that is likely to cause them pain, suffering, distress or lasting harm.
Animals in laboratories are specifically bred for the purpose of being tested on. They are exposed to toxins, have organs removed and are most likely killed at the end of the experiment. There have been so many advancements in science and technology that should allow for companies to stop testing their products on innocent animals. If there are company’s out there that can sell a product without testing it on animals beforehand, then surely all companies have the ability to do so as well.
For a product to be classified as cruelty-free, the finished product, as well as each and every ingredient, must not have been tested on an animal. Sadly, there are still many big name companies that continue this practice. The following list is categorized by industry, and includes but is not limited to the following companies:
